Johanna Calle is a Colombian artist who was born in Bogota in 1965. She completed an undergraduate degree in visual arts at the Universidad de los Andes, graduating in 1989, and studied a master’s degree in fine arts at London’s Chelsea College of Arts in 1993. She currently lives and works in Bogotá. In her work she places great importance on the composition of images, in that she seeks narratives that will allow meaning to be generated not only around what she expresses, but also around the methods and materials she employs to construct her art.
