En 1957 realizó su primera muestra individual de pinturas en Medellín, en un espacio de la Casa Mariana. Al segundo día, Arango decidió retirar sus obras ante el temor causado por las manifestaciones contra el General Rojas9. En 1959 viajó por segunda vez a Europa y en Inglaterra estudió cerámica en el Technical College of Reading. A partir de los años sesenta Arango decidió no volver a mostrar sus obras debido a las amenazas y presiones que recibió su familia. Comenzó entonces un largo periodo de asilamiento en el que decidió intervenir pictóricamente “La Casablanca”, su casa-taller en Envigado.

On the second day, Arango decided to withdraw her works due to the fear caused by the demonstrations against General Rojas Pinilla. In 1959, she traveled to Europe for the second time and in England studied ceramics at Reading Technical College. In the 1960s, Arango decided not to show her works again, having received threats and pressure from her family. Then began a long period of isolation during which she decided to intervene pictorially in La Casablanca, her house-workshop in Envigado.
